Overview
Although he grew up near Maroubra Beach, surrounded by surfers and footballers, four-time Helpmann and Sydney Theatre Award winner Mitchell Butel spent his teenage years dreaming of being a Las Vegas crooner like his heroes Tony Bennett, Mel Torme, Dean Martin, Sammy Davis Jr and Frank Sinatra. Performing with three red-hot Sydney musicians, join Mitchell for an evening of juicy stories as he takes you through the old jazz songs that inspired his teenage dreams and first steps towards the theatre. From his Maroubra garage to Ensemble Theatre, it’s time to put on the smoking jacket, strike up a red hot band and swing the night away.
